Revanth Reddy Unveils Plans for New Rs 2K Cr Genome Valley Expansion
In a significant announcement, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy revealed plans for the establishment of the second phase of Genome Valley in Hyderabad. His announcement came during the inauguration of the Health Care and Life Sciences Bio Asia 2024 Conference held at Hitex. During the event, the CM also extended his congratulations to Nobel laureate Prof. Greg L. Semenza, who was honored with the Genome Valley Excellence 2024 Award.
Highlighting the forthcoming expansion, CM Revanth Reddy outlined that the new phase of Genome Valley would span across three hundred acres with a staggering investment of Rs 2000 crores. Furthermore, he emphasized that the initiative is not merely about infrastructure development but also about fostering immense opportunities for budding entrepreneurs. With projections indicating the creation of approximately 500,000 new jobs, the expansion aims to catalyze economic growth in the region.
Additionally, CM Revanth Reddy shed light on the ongoing efforts to establish ten pharma villages, with an investment exceeding one lakh crores. These villages are strategically planned in Vikarabad, Medak, and Nalgonda districts, ensuring accessibility within an hour's journey from Hyderabad International Airport. This geographical advantage is poised to attract global entrepreneurs and facilitate seamless operations within the pharmaceutical sector.
Furthermore, the government's vision extends to the creation of ten "Pharma Villages" across the state, each presenting investment opportunities totaling Rs one lakh crore. This multi-faceted approach underscores the commitment to bolstering the pharmaceutical industry and positioning Telangana as a hub for innovation and investment in the life sciences sector.
