100 days of Ayushman Bharat - Modi thanks Bill gates for his appreciation
Bill Gates on Thursday has tweeted congratulating the Indian government for its Ayushman Bharat Yojna. He said in his tweet ' Congratulations to the Indian government on the first 100 days of @AyushmanNHA. It's great to see how many people have been reached by the program so far. @PMOIndia'.

Bill Gates tweet comes after the announcement made by Union Health Minister JP Nadda who informed that 6,85,000 beneficiaries have availed free health care in just first 100 days and it the number is forecasted to increase rapidly.
In response to the tweet by Bill gates Modi tweeted ' Ayushman Bharat stems out of our commitment to provide top quality and affordable healthcare to the poor.' and he thanked Bill Gates.
What is Ayushman Bharat?
1. The Ayushman Bharat is a scheme that aims to provide health assurance to 10 crore families or around 50 crore Indians, who will be given up to Rs 5 lakh cover per year.
2. The scheme targets the poor, deprived rural families and identifies an occupational category of urban workers' families, 8.03 crore in rural and 2.33 crore in urban areas, as per the latest Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) data.
3. The health ministry has included 1,354 packages in the scheme under which treatment for coronary bypass, knee replacements and stenting among others would be provided at 15-20 per cent cheaper rates than the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS).
4. The scheme will provide cashless and paperless access to services for the beneficiary at the point of service. Eligible people can avail the benefits in government and listed private hospitals.
