An Interesting Reform In Administration Of Telangana

In administrative reform, the state government of Telangana abolished Joint Collector posts in the district Collectorates and introduced Additional Collectors posts.
The government on Sunday night officially transferred 49 officials in the rank of Special Officers and Sub Collectors in the districts. 8 junior IAS officers who are working in different districts also got transferred.
IAS officer Rahul Sharma of 2017 batch who is working as Special Officer to Rajanna Siricilla district has been transferred and posted as Additional Collector to Local Bodies in Nalgonda district.
As per the sources, the additional collectors will play a major role in the functioning of local bodies that were neglected due to various reasons.
From now, a district consists of a collector and two additional collectors - one is specially deployed to govern the local bodies. The Chief Minister KC Rao also plans to hold a meeting with all the collectors on February 11.
