Bodies Of Kidnapped Punjab-Origin Sikh Families Found In California.

4 Punjabi Sikhs, including an 8-month-old child, were kidnapped from Merced County in California, authorities said on Thursday.
"It's senseless," Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said. "We found the 4 people from the kidnapping, and they are, in fact, deceased."
In 2005, the man in custody was convicted of armed robbery and false imprisonment. He was paroled in 2015 and knew the victims. On October 3, the victim's family from Hoshiarpur in Punjab was kidnapped.
Earlier, Merced County Sheriff's Office, in a statement, said 36-year-old Jasdeep Singh, 27-year-old Jasleen Kaur, their eight-month-old child, and 39-year-old Amandeep Singh were taken against their will from a business.
In a statement on October 4, Merced County Sheriff's Office said the detectives received information that one of the victim's ATM cards was used at an ATM located at a bank in the City of Atwater.
"The investigators obtained a surveillance photo of a person making a bank transaction whose appearance are similar to that of the original kidnapping picture.
"At approximately noon, working with our local law enforcement partners, the Sheriff's Office received information that identified Jesus Manuel Salgado (48 years old) as a person of interest in this investigation.
" Before law enforcement involvement, Salgado attempted suicide. He is currently in our custody, receiving medical attention, and is in critical condition."
