CM Naidu Calls for Enhanced Support Systems for Tribal Communities
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has stressed the urgent need to improve support systems for tribal communities. He directed officials to avoid the use of doli (makeshift stretchers) in tribal areas, advocating for more sustainable transportation solutions. In a recent meeting, CM Naidu called for the activation of Maternity Dormitories, Tricars, Government Community Centers (GCCs), and Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) to enhance living conditions and provide better support for tribal women, particularly in maternal health and overall community welfare.
Mandi, a senior official at the meeting, noted that the standard of living for tribal populations has significantly declined due to the previous government’s policies. In response, CM Naidu ordered the re-introduction of feeder ambulances and emphasized the importance of establishing the necessary infrastructure to ensure health services reach remote tribal areas.
The Chief Minister expressed frustration over the perceived weakening of various welfare schemes that were effective between 2014 and 2019 during his administration. He specifically highlighted the disruption of initiatives like the NTR Vidyonnati program, the Ambedkar Overseas Education Fund, and the Best Available Schools initiative, all of which were designed to support tribal students.
