EC Repoll Decision Lead Massive Dharna
The re-polling in 5 booths of Chandragiri was ordered by the election commission, which is to be held on 19th May, the day when the last phase of election is due. This order was passed as there were complaints from the candidates.
One of those complaints was that some villagers were not allowed to vote and the other one was irregularities while polling. Both of these complaints were regarding the polling which was held on 11th April, the day of 1st Phase of polling.
However, the Telugu Desam party is not at all happy with this decision and has strongly criticized the election commission’s decision. A massive dharna has been organized in front of sub collector’s office in Tirupati on Thursday. The Dharna is led by Minister of Industries, N Amaranth Reddy, and party candidate Pulivarthi Nani.
According to the minister, EC is acting according to the wishes of BJP and YSRCP, which denies equal opportunities to all the other parties. Naidu had fought against this attitude of EC in Dheli for democratic values.
