Election code caused the Telangana secretariat's opening to be postponed.

The opening of Telangana's new secretariat in Hyderabad, which was originally slated for February 17, has been delayed due to the model code of conduct taking effect.
The Telangana administration said on Saturday that the poll code has caused the opening of the state's new secretariat, which was originally scheduled for February 17, to be postponed. Following several negotiations between the Chief Secretary and the administration, this development occurred. Soon, the new date for the same will be revealed.
The Telangana Congress requested in a letter to the Election Commission (EC) yesterday that the opening of a new state secretariat be delayed because the model code of conduct has been implemented as a result of the announcement of the MLC elections.
The model code of conduct went into effect as a result of the announcement that a biennial election would be held for two MLC positions: Hyderabad Local Body MLC Constituency and Teachers MLC. The Central Election Commission was advised about this by the state's chief secretary regarding the Secretariat's inauguration ceremony.
The Commission's reaction was uninspiring, thus the state's new secretariat's inauguration has now been postponed. The electoral authority had stated that the model code of conduct for these elections will take effect immediately.
