Following CBN's Arrest, the TDP Vote Bank Increased by 4.5%
After the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu, public perception appears to be primarily in favour of the belief that his arrest was politically motivated and driven by vendetta politics. According to a survey conducted by an agency, a large majority of people, approximately 90 percent, believe that YS Jagan's government apprehended Chandrababu Naidu for political reasons. The survey also revealed a significant increase in TDP support. After Chandrababu Naidu's detention, the TDP's support base reportedly grew by 4 to 4.5%. The sympathy generated by his detention appears to be assisting the TDP and has the potential to impact future elections.
In addition, there has been a notable shift in women voters' support. Women's support for the YSRCP was reportedly solid prior to September 9; however, after that date, there appears to have been a shift towards the TDP. Women have actively participated in protests in support of Chandrababu Naidu, and their presence at various protest sites, such as Benz Circle in Vijayawada and Shankar Vilas in Guntur, has been notable.
It appears that the longer Chandrababu Naidu remains in prison, the more his arrest may benefit the TDP politically, particularly among women voters who have participated in large numbers in his support protests and demonstrations.
