Godrej group is preparing to make Telangana its new home. KTR

Telangana is slated to become Godrej group's new home, according to IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao.

Saturday, he participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for an integrated palm oil refinery, the first to be built by Godrej Agrovet in Khammam, at the Gubbagurthy village of the Konijerla mandal in the Wyra Assembly constituency.

To achieve self-sufficiency, the State Government gives top priority to the green revolution, white revolution (milk production), blue revolution (fisheries), pink revolution (meat), and yellow revolution (edible oil). Khammam will be home to a world-class edible oil processing complex as Godrej's Rs 300 crore-invested facility will support 50,000 farmers and create 2,000 jobs. Rama Rao stated that it will be an important step in the progression of the yellow revolution in Telangana.

He noted that Godrej has partnered with reputable global companies to establish India's first private oil palm seed garden on the factory grounds in order to develop seed varieties suitable for the local climate, as well as a nursery with a capacity of five lakh saplings that will bring high-end plant genetics to India.

Khammam is a key area of focus for the Godrej group, which will collaborate with the government to establish one-stop farmer care centres that will provide farmers with all of their needs, including fertilisers, harvesting instruments, plant protection solutions, and extension services.

Telangana has launched an ambitious oil palm mission with the goal of cultivating 20 lakh acres. Telangana's robust infrastructure of Rythu Vedikas and agriculture extension apparatus will allow it to surpass AP as the largest oil palm producing state in India within the next two years.

Farmers who cultivate oil palm will receive a subsidy of Rs 50,000 per acre from the Telangana government. The oil palm mission is anticipated to increase the income of approximately five lakh producers and create employment opportunities for approximately 2.3 lakh individuals.

Godrej as a strong and reliable partner to Telangana is nurturing a deep relationship by planning investments in dairy, pharma, personal care products, furniture, real estate, retail, poultry, animal feed and aquaculture. Rama Rao added that immediately after concluding discussions on the same topic, announcements will be made.
