Guntur Municipal Corporation Prepares for Voter List Reschedule
Kirthi Chekuri, the Commissioner of the Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC), has announced the procedures regarding the rescheduled voter list, as per the directives of the Election Commission. During a meeting with Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and representatives of political parties at the GMC Council Hall, Chekuri conveyed important deadlines and actions.
According to the Election Commission's schedule, objections to the voter list will be accepted until December 9. Subsequently, authorities must address these petitions by January 12. Commissioner Chekuri emphasized that as part of this process, an action plan has been formulated. Notably, officials who reject Form-6 applications for voter registration may face repercussions.
Furthermore, Chekuri informed the attendees that the final voters' list is slated for release on January 22. To meet this deadline, BLOs (Booth Level Officers) are expected to conduct inquiries into complaints and objections pertaining to the draft voters' list by January 12.
The meeting featured the presence of GMC Additional Commissioner K. Lakshmi Siva Jyothi, AERO A. Srinivasa Rao, and political party representatives, ensuring coordinated efforts for a smooth and accurate voter list reschedule.
