Hyderabad Beat Bengaluru On IT Job Creation!

Hyderabad left Bengaluru behind in job creation in the IT sector last year- IT Minister KT Rama Rao. IT companies should look beyond Hyderabad to tier II towns and cities in Telangana to set up new units and expand operations, according to the IT minister.
According to NASSCOM, 4.50 lakh jobs were created in India in the IT sector last year. The Minister said Hyderabad created 1.50 lakh jobs, beating Bengaluru, which produced 1.46 lakh jobs.
Addressing IT industry representatives, he said Hyderabad had beaten Bengaluru quarter by quarter for 8 quarters in terms of office space absorption.
“I am not here to trash Bengaluru or say anything negative, but for Hyderabad, this is just beginning,” said Rama Rao.
KCR Government has put a lot of effort into ensuring quality workforce supply in different sectors, especially the IT sector.
Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge (TASK) has trained over 7 lakh youngsters during the last 8 years involving 14,000 plus faculty members.
He said it was not just the IT sector; the youngsters were trained in the life sciences, aerospace, and defense sectors.
Briefing about state government’s support to the startup ecosystem through T-HUB, the Minister said Skyroo- successfully launched its rocket into orbit in its first attempt and was incubated at T-HUB.
