Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the youngest woman elected to Congress in the midterm elections but according to a recent interview, she is struggling to pay her house rent.
She told to The New York times, that how could she buy an apartment in Washington, D.C, without taking salary from three months.
As a bartender at a Union Square restaurant, she had some savings earlier this year and she is expecting that money will help her for a few months.
Living without a pay check is what we have planned for, she said but there are hardships that are still very real.
“We’re kind of just dealing with the logistics of it day by day, but I’ve really been just kind of squirreling away and then hoping that gets me to January,” she said.
