Jagan Launches YSR Poshana Schemes Today

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Monday, launched YSR SampoornaPoshanascheme aimed at providing nutritious food for pregnant women, lactating mothers and children.
As a part of this scheme, the Jagan government has plans to strengthen Anganwadi Centers and provide fortified nutritious food to pregnant women, nursing mothers and children.
Along with the SampoornaPoshana scheme he also inaugurated the YSR SampoornaPoshana Plus scheme which also takes concern the health of its citizens by providing better health facilities.
Chief Minister YS Jagan said, “The objective of introducing the YSR Pooshana Plus scheme is to protect the children and maternal mothers, pregnant women from protein deficiency. All the Anganwadi teachers and workers would play a vital role in this regard”.
“The rate of Maternal and Mortality should be made zero in the district. Steps should be taken for improving the institutional deliveries,” he added.
As many as 30,16,000 pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children belonging to BPL families will be benefited from these schemes.
Also, Under YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus, the government will be spending Rs 1,100 every month on every pregnant and lactating woman, Rs 620 on each child aged six and 36 months, and Rs 553 on each child aged between 36 and 72 months, totaling Rs 307.55 crore per annum on 3,80,000 beneficiaries.
