KTR Says That People Who Grow Turmeric Will Teach Modi A Lesson.
IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao pointed out the hypocrisy and double standards of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday by making light of Modi's claim during his campaign in Karnataka that the Congress made fun of him when he said turmeric was good for your health during the Covid pandemic.
Modi said that the Congress insulted turmeric farmers, not him. Rama Rao was quick to point out the irony and hypocrisy in Modi's comment, saying that the same Modi and BJP had repeatedly turned down the requests of turmeric farmers. He said that turmeric farmers in the state would teach the saffron party a good lesson for the "shameful betrayal." The real insult to turmeric farmers, he said, was that the saffron party had promised them a Turmeric Board on a bond paper during the Parliament elections but then lied to them by not giving them the board even though they had asked for it many times.
Rama Rao showed Modi a picture of the bond paper that Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri signed before he was elected that said he would build a Turmeric Board in Nizamabad. He then asked Modi if he noticed the BJP MP's words on the bond paper. During the 2019 election campaign, Arvind, Union Minister Rajnath Singh, and top BJP leader Ram Madhav promised turmeric farmers a Turmeric Board. Arvind not only said on a bond paper that he would get the union government to accept the turmeric board within five days of winning the election, but he also said he would quit if he failed.
