KTR asks women entrepreneurs to think local!

KT Rama Rao, IT and Industries Minister, asked women entrepreneurs to look beyond Hyderabad and across the State to establish their industrial units. The State government was willing to extend complete support to these units.
Not only would this decongest Hyderabad and prevent overburdening its infrastructure, it would also create employment opportunities for local youth and reduce company expenditures.
He also wanted women entrepreneurs to explore various opportunities in rural Telangana. The rural state government has a massive land bank of 10,000 acres for food processing zones alone. He stated that one-third of this land had been earmarked for women entrepreneurs exclusively.
Rama Rao urged women entrepreneurs to play a key role in exploding Telangana's full potential during the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) Hyderabad Business Awards ceremony. She said Telangana witnessed five revolutions - green, blue, pink, white, and yellow.
"Due to the State government's initiatives in agriculture, fisheries, meat milk, and palm oil production, the food processing sector are all set to take off in a big way," he explained.
Considering the increased sheep population, he advised the women entrepreneurs to explore opportunities to process and export meat to the Middle East, South East Asia, and other parts of the world.
As part of its efforts to reduce dependence on other countries for palm oil imports, the Telangana government is also promoting the cultivation of oil palm on about 20 lakh acres.
