Naidu’s Cabinet Meet Likely Skipped- Officials
The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu who is serving, since 2014, has planned a meeting with the government officials and the cabinet colleagues. However, if the election commission does not grant permission to attend the meeting, it would be embarrassing, as only cabinet colleagues would be left.
As the fifth phase of election is still going on there is a mode of conduct to be levied on, according to the rules Government officials need permission from the election commission to attend the meeting.
In normal condition the rule states that Chief Secretary (CS), needs to circulate a note to all the officials to be ready with the basic information and to attend the cabinet meeting after the call for meeting, but the Government officials pointed out that since the election code was in effect in the state, the CS may seek the advice of the EC whether to attend the meeting and also whether to circulate the note or not.
If the permission is granted by EC it is okay, but if not the officials will not attend the meeting.
