Piyush Goyal's whopping railway budget
On Friday, the Interim Budget presented by Piyush Goyal the Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India, allocated a whopping amount of Rs.64587 to Railways for the year 2019-2020.
Piyush Goyal when speaking about the budget mentioned, "Railways has an overall capital expenditure of 1,58,650 crores of Rupees. The operating ration of Railways will come down to 95% for the year 2019-20 compared with the percentage for the year 2018-19 which was 96.2%."
He also added that “All the unmanned level crossings on broad gauge network is been completely put to an end". A container cargo rail movement for the northeastern part of India is soon to be launched by the Government", He added.
Speaking about the fastest train, Piyush Goyal quoted, “Vande Bharat the fastest train of India is built on to achieve for world-class facilities with speed, safety and better service to the passengers. Engineers design to build this fastest train project is definitely going to bring high momentum for the government's 'Make in India' programme and is estimated to create around 5000 direct employability and 10,000 indirect jobs to citizens".
