TDP Chief Calls for Strong Judiciary Amid Political Challenges
TDP's national president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has emphasized the critical need for a robust judicial system to regulate democratic processes that deviate from constitutional mandates. Speaking at a TDP legal cell workshop, Naidu lamented the erosion of democratic norms under the YSRCP administration, where leaders had to seek transparency regarding legal cases filed against them. He highlighted his own challenges in obtaining information on cases filed against him and stressed the judiciary's indispensable role in upholding democratic principles.
Naidu underscored the plight faced by lawyers and candidates during elections, citing instances of nomination difficulties and alleged electoral manipulation by the ruling party. He expressed concern over the lack of protection for institutions like the State Election Commissioner, who had to seek assistance from the Central government.
With the election schedule announced, Naidu called upon all citizens to unite in safeguarding the state from the YSRCP's influence, emphasizing the pivotal role of advocates in this endeavor. Asserting confidence in the NDA's prospects, Naidu projected victory for the coalition both nationally and in Andhra Pradesh.
