India Completes 'Operation Sindoor' in Response to Pahalgam Attack

In a decisive retaliatory move following the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Indian Armed Forces launched and completed ‘Operation Sindoor’—a targeted military operation against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK). The strike, which began in the early hours of May 7, focused on eliminating terrorist camps responsible for directing attacks on Indian soil. Nine key terror hubs were struck with precision, avoiding Pakistani military facilities to prevent escalation.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence, the operation was carefully planned and executed to maintain a non-escalatory posture. The attack comes days after 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were killed in Pahalgam in an assault allegedly orchestrated from across the border. India has vowed accountability, and Operation Sindoor represents its firm response to cross-border terrorism.
Targets included training centers and operational bases of groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM). The Indian military emphasized that this was a precise and necessary measure to dismantle terror infrastructure and deter future threats.
Further details about the targets and the execution strategy are expected in an official briefing later in the day. The operation marks one of the most significant cross-border military actions by India in recent years and underscores its commitment to national security.
